Landlord has a downstairs shower room next door, its on the other side of pur living room wall and we noticed mould creeping above the skirting board along that wall.
He was made aware and is co operative and has got us some anti mould agent to put on. Trouble is, its worse than a wipe down IMO. Just took off the skirts to get behind, the plasterboard is slightly soggy, carpet very slightly damp and the paint is peeling in a couple spots.

Hes coming round to look, options ? Do it through his insurance, do it through ours and claim back, do it through ours and get them to claim off his ?

Damn nuisance, could have done with out the upheaval tbh.

Ultimately, I'm going to impress on him he needs to sort his side or we're going to be here again at some stage (this has happened before but only minor damage)

Talk to your landlord first and show him the damage behind the skirting board. Since he's cooperative, insist he finds and fixes the leak source on his side for good. Don't go through your own insurance yet. Make it his problem to solve completely.

Wiping with an anti-mould is just cosmetic. If the route cause is his shower leaking, either sealant or pipework, it's his responsibility to fix it and to fix your issues plus redecorate and, possibly clean or replace the carpet..
As a landlord, he must have insurance.

Take photographs for proof & any further claims before and during any remedial work in case you end up claiming on your insurance.

Something like this doesn't at first glance sound like an insurance thing at all. And if you are the tenant it very much sounds like something in the landlord's responsibilities.

If it’s literally soggy and damp as described in the OP, this isn’t a simple case of cleaning the mould- there’s almost certainly a leak somewhere, and this would need to be dealt with on the shower side of the wall!

If you go through your insurance and bill them next door won't it affect your premium in future?

It might do anyway. People have been blacklisted for insurance fraud for not declaring a loss when they renew, even though they hadn't made a claim for it.
