I trust Poliakoff. I feel all will be made clear come episode 5. I'm hoping for that rush that comes with a successful denouement. When all our concerns are resolved and more - much more - we are shown something.
I don't refer to plot either. I think we'll understand why it's been made in the manner it has been. I think Poliakoff is coming at this from an angle we don't yet see. Perhaps we're inside this cosy, upper class circle where niggers are tolerated so long as they're polite but deported if they're uppity and aggressive. Where people being assaulted is described as "unfortunate". Where appearance - even of tolerance - is all. Is Lester some kind of 'Uncle Tom'? How do we get rid of those loathsome Nazis? Put a black man in front off them - oh how amusing. How clever are we? Back to the party...
I'm probably way off the mark (or at least partly so) but I do think it'll all be turned around. As yet, we've only this one perspective, I feel we'll be shown another. Until then, there's enough intrigue there for me to keep on hanging on. Besides, it's sumptuous to watch!
