Looking for a companion, or companions for a tour of the Danube. I'm flying into Munich probably 8th of May and riding from there. Tour will be for two weeks and will be cheap B&B or hostel/hotels etc. Mileage will be from 50miles a day + depending on the wind/wine/mood etc. A laid back approach to things. I'm joining 2 unknown Americans [one of whomhas done this ride many times] in Munich so a fourth or more would be welcome to even things up in regard to rooms etc. I'm an easygoing heterosexual male who will not see fifty again. Company can be male/female of any age or sexuality. The tour is flexible enough to cope with anybody who would want to join us for a week or whatever along the route. Would not suit those with a head down racing approach to touring.

I don't know if you realise that by starting your tour in Munich you are missing the best bit of the Danube route i.e. the first 100 or so km from the source at Donaueschingen. You can get to Donaueschingen from Munich by train (change at Ulm) or alternatively you can fly to Stuttgart and get the train from there. If you are able to modify your plans to take that in, then I would strongly recommend it.

So would I - I used the route between Heidelburg and Ulm a couple of years ago and it was a lovely trundle with lunch in the forest beside the river in a nudist camp

Meeting the nudists, who swarmed around me to help as I studied a riverside map, was just one of the memorable moments of my Danube tour.

Bloody Hell! I live 30 yards from the Danube bike path and I've never seen any nudists!

The only nudist we saw was an old guy weeding his garden at the side of the Danube. He stood up and gave us a cheery wave. To be fair it was a hot day.
