So many what ifs in it though, if he'd hit the back of his head when he landed then he could have given himself a head injury right there, not to mention if the ice had cracked, it so easily could have ended up very differently.

So Vernon, if you found it underwhelming, find me more upperwhelming video then!

It is a swimming pool, but yes, I was wondering exactly how the others would have rescued him safely from under the ice if he'd injured himself in the process.

Maybe I'm thinking about it too much.

wow, the first one made me laugh a lot, at least he was doing it is a controlled environment with clear water.

The second guy was just idiotic, the guy could so easily have never come back up and his friends would never have found him.

As demonstrated on TV recently, you gasp involuntarily when you enter freezing water and you only need to inhale 1/3 of a pint of water to begin drowning.

as someone who suffers from 2 prolapsed disks,he must have compressed his spine with that impact! he might suffer as a result of that stunt in later life! looks very painful.....still funny and stupid !

I have done Curling on the Lake Of Menteith, and tried to learn as much about surviving going through the ice as much as possible beforehand.

That said, it isn't something I'd want to actually test, particularly when I was out in the middle, walking between the islands, so I have an appreciation of being safe out there on the Ice!

A good reason to introduce mandatory helmet wearing when swimming I think.
