I am fortunate that my college degree is only £7,200 a year (which is covered by the Welsh Assembly Grant and Tuition Fee Loan).
Just got a quote from a fellow CCer of a £400 full week of driving lessons which I will be taking up in summer next year (Dad's idea) so that I can have a license and start cutting down on the insurance premiums.
If I manage my money in the first year well, I will be able to manage quite well. (First years are always the bulk of the money as you have to buy books and other initial purchases. Second year is less costly).
OP, can she cook and bake? I have told my parents that whilst I am at home, I want to learn to bake many things so that I am setup for living on my own (for doing my Masters). I am also going to be doing a lot of cooking as well.
Second year of the course, I am probably going to go on my own holiday (fellow cyclist mention LEJOG) to boost my independance.
