You're absolutely right, but I didn't make it through - but then again I watched The Passenger a film I really want to like, but which still defeats me.

Caught the last little bit of the English Patient, though. How did that only get nine Oscars

I like David Lynch films and have had that one for ages but never watched it as I read it was crap too. Laura Dern is very nice. She was hot in Lynch's Wild At Heart when she was much younger, not my favourite film by him either. Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway and The Straight Story are my favourites.

'Blue Velvet' is my all-time favourite Lynch film. Full of all of his trademarks but without the out-and-out bizarreness which has swamped his latest works.
