I've just been introduced to the miracle of "one-quid-from-the-pound-shop--degreaser-" It is by far my favourite cleaner - you literally just spray it on, and the muc just fallllllssss right off - I am now the envy of the bike mechanics as my 9 speed casette looks brand new.....

highly recommended.

P.S. it stinks

P.P.S. it makes year old disk brakes work like a pair of just bedded in pad, less that a week old.

I take it you re-oil/grease afterwards though?

How do you avoid having degreaser left on the drivetrain? Won't any left over mean that lubricant becomes ineffective?

then I must ask - What is the best thing ever??? I've been using it for a good long while- 95% of it evaporates and the other 5% can be rubbed off with a rag....

For yenrod - in town there is a pound shop.... they sell it in cans as long as my forearm for a pound each (no surprises there)
