Dear God Of Rain....

Nothing wrong with two showers (or more) a day, at least the natural ones are totally free (well apart from the extra maintenance).
suspect it will be a 3rd by the time I'm back from the Dr's... raintoday.co.uk is showing another heavy rain storm coming this way. Maintenance is easy to deal with - mention to landlady's boyfriend (in his 50's) that I need to borrow his ladders... he asks what for... I mention gutters and downpipes and problem resolved. One of the small advantages of being female! quite happy to do it myself but he has volunteered.

In order to placate our friends North of the Border I have indeed visited Scotland for most of one day and didn't get wet. Easter Sunday this year was very pleasant on our ride from Longridge Towers over to Eyemouth and back. However in other years similar rides did see some rain on our rides. As a child I was taken to 'see the Trossachs'. Now we did get there, at least that's what the locals said when asked, but all we saw was water pouring from the sky, down mountainsides and into a body of water, the far side of which was invisible! After three days of this we packed it in and went to Blackpool where the weather as glorious. How you Scots manage is beyond me, but no wonder you've invented lots of things, including the first bike and pneumatic tyre and so travelled the world.

sorry - was watching the downpipes overflowing and flooding the garden and think of other things. Bikes are under bike covers and road bike is now drying off prior to being re-lubed.... Managed to get out between storms as well, but some of the flooding is 'interesting' and one or two of the local roads are closed due to flooding and one with a landslide! (mini and I was able to cycle passed it thankfully!)

I chose my avatar with good reason! I try to commute by bike when the weather is reasonable, but given that it is 14 miles with just over 1000 feet of climbing each way, it is a bit of a slog without getting wet too.
When the weather is nice in Scotland, it is hard to beat. But for the other 350 days of the year cycling can be hard going. No wonder it is very much a minority activity .

There's something wrong with your maths, it might be 350days in a leap year
