It's a bit more complicated than that...
Your bike looks very impressive - nice bit of black-and-white contrast work. And the black-and-white lycra to match, too. Very chic indeed.
But I can't help thinking you missed a trick. You see, there were some black-and-white stripes painted on the road. If you'd just stopped next door to them the trio of black-and-white - road decorations, bike decorations and personal decoration would have been the perfect ensemble. It's difficult to know how you missed the road decorations, really. Lots of other traffic stopped might have been a hint, and surely you saw those big orangey flashy things on top of the poles?
And if you had stopped, or even slowed down, you might have avoided narrowly missing the gentleman who seemed to think the black-and-white road decorations were there to help him cross the road - not to mention the three cyclists turning right when they noticed the other traffic letting him across.
