I feel bad when I get overtaken by middle aged men on Bromptons...I just can't let it happen.

But then again I cycle wearing dresses and shoes not fit for cycling (though flat shoes) and wonder how people feel when I overtake them...mwahaha...

I don't know of any shoes not fit for cycling in - I can't cycle in heels myself but other than that my feet know no boundary's (ok perhaps not bare feet).

I got overtaken by some girl on here racing bike today near Aldgate...She must have been in her twenties.At one time it was unusual and now it isn't.

I've stopped worrying about it and just try to enjoy my cycling at my own pace.

Weeks will go by without me seeing another cyclist while making good time on my routes, and then when I'm knackered or sore some bu99er of a roadie flies past me. Either I'm shockingly unlucky or I'm not as fast as I think I am. But when I check my average speed on my gps thingie I'm doing a speed I'm proud of so it doesn't matter how fast they are, it's how fast I am that matters.

It's because your that bit slower they actually catch you up. Now I'm pushing that bit harder to work so averaging about 1mph faster than normal I'm catching many more people. Conversely if I have a slow day I hardly see anyone.
