Please comment on the surface quality of Hollandridgelane which descends from CC in a SEly direction. I doubt that it would be kind to summer road bike tyres but it would be good to have informed opinion.

OSM has it marked as grade 4 dirt (Mostly soft.
An unpaved track prominently with soil/sand/grass, but with some hard or compacted materials mixed in) followed by grade 3 gravel (Even mixture of hard and soft materials. An unpaved track.)

I'd either expect to walk the first bit, or go another way.

I've ridden through Christmas Common a number of times but I just checked and I've never ridden Hollandridge Lane. So I can't help, sorry.

However, I checked streetview and it is on Streetview and appears to be metalled (or was metalled when the pics were done in 2022)
