Sadly I didn't attend as I rode a sportive (I'm still not sure why I chose not to go to Bestival!)
My mates went (dressed as Run DMC) and said that Public Enemy were good, Grandmaster Flash was also good.

I have only watched highlights of the Friday, so have to add Pendulum to that list.
I am gutted I missed the above, plus Big Audio Dynamite

'Master Flash was indeed awesome, as were The Village People! I've been dancing the wrong way to YMCA for 30+ years it seems.

The stuff I heard at the Rizla Arena was very engaging though I suspect I was a long way from the target demographic!

Not a lot of people.know... the Falling Man from 9/11 is the brother of the original GI from the Village People.

I met two returnees, friends of The Kid, in the High Street a couple of hours ago. I'd have said, looking at them, that not sleeping and getting very grubby were the highlights.

I'm intrigued as to where you went wrong... was it the Y, the M, The C or the A?

The M was my downfall. But there was safety in numbers more than half the crowd got it wrong. Basically when you put your arms up for the Y you only move your forearms to make the M.

Lots got the C facing the wrong way too, until told, but I was okay on that one.

Our resident younglings have returned from their yurts. Our non-resident younglings ditto I'm told. They pong a bit but one has showered and gone to A level art evening class. Very resilient, younglings.

Dancing to The Cure for two-and-a-half hours in a field on a slope has left us all with sore legs. Adverse camber gets you every time.

I meant to ask around before going if anyone from here was off to it! Ah well.

I'm a big fan of The Cure ... well, everything before 1996 that is. I've seen them twice before, and they were both times utterly underwhelming. Seemed like Robert Smith standing around with 5 session musicians going through the motions.

HOWEVER - this time they were EXCEPTIONAL. Bloody brilliant, great performance, and brilliant to see them holding out as a 4-piece with just Bob on guitar - assuming there wasn't another guitarist off stage somewhere. They performed brilliantly, and really engaged with the audience. Absolutely fantastic stuff.

Public Enemy and The Village People were also a hoot, especially the bit where the VP berated the world for constantly getting the YMCA dance wrong! Patrick Wolf also put on a typically brilliant performance and also was responsible for me pulling ;)

Bjork was really disappointing. I'm a big fan but she was just playing new, slow minimal stuff all the time - and worse of all the screens only showed visuals and close ups of a couple of instruments - but no camera shots of what was going on onstage. as I was some way back I couldn't see a thing. Left 2/3rds through to go home.

Next year I just hope they decide not to put the bloody dance tents right in the middle of the bloody camp sites! Some of us would like to sleep y'know!

I should also add I did the whole fancy dress thing on Saturday and went as ... Robert Smith. Shaved the beard off and everything! Watch what you say or I'll be posting pictures!
