I was just about to set off for work an hour early this morning (hadnt changed my watch). Fortunately my dad came outside and stopped me. I felt like such a muppet.

I remember when, for a few years back in the late 60's, the clocks went forward one hour and stayed there.I liked it that way but apparently the experiment was a failure with the general public, so we all switched back to the pointless ritual of to-ing and fro-ing the clocks twice a year.

I find it more confusing these days when half the clocks adjust themselves automatically. I'm never quite sure if they've actually done it.
