Difference between Shimano shifters?

Hi there, I wonder if you can help?

I've just taken delivery of a bike, which had ST-EF60 shifters on the model I ordered from in the shop (red gauge indicating which gear is selected), and has arrived with ST-EF50 shifters (number in window indicating gear selection), which look and feel quite a bit cheaper.

My question is whether I would notice any difference in shifting quality if I had the better quality shifters? I'm not sure whether to kick up a fuss at the shop or not!

One rival shop told me I would notice a difference, and a second one said I would not!

honestly don't know if there would be a difference but if you didn't get what you wanted or ordered, you should send it back if possible and get what you wanted.

You probably won't notice any different, but I'd want what I ordered.

Looking at the design the mech seems the same although the 60's look like they have a cable tension adjuster to the rear mech on the shifter 'pod':
