DIY Advice - shed security

So, now that my shed is looking after some expensive bikes and not just 1/2 empty tins of paint I want to make it more secure. Below are internal an external shots of the only entrance and most likely point of unwanted entry.

I'm not too bad at DIY so more capable than just adding a new padlock but less that fitting a whole new door. I guess I would like advice in best way of removing the gap (metal strip?) and new lock (mortise?).

Any advice gratefully received.

Some sort of rubber or brush strip might be your best bet for the gap, I presume you want to stop people seeing in and weather getting through?

I think I'd reinforce the wood around the door frame with some angle iron and add bolts to the big door so that you used the smaller door to get in and out. The opening door always being harder to secure, making it smaller could end up a bonus. Then probably just a second heavy duty staple and hasp to make it harder to twist.

I'd sort out an anchor within the shed then chain and u locks to keep the bikes together.

Shed and garage security is always a trade off between how secure you want it and how much faff you want to add to each time you need access.

OSB board fixed to the inside of the doors... Frame the doors first with 3x2 that will take your mortice lock/handle .. Also you will need longer Tee hinges for the extra weight (joiner)

Replace door lock screws with headless bolts or security screws , i just bought some floor anchors ..

Its just beefing up the door to sink a mortice lock in ... could do it to any door !
