Argh! Sounds like the Honda needs front brakes too  I can't do 'owt with Honda bits I'm afraid. Unfortunately we don't do them and we don't have any Honda dealers in our group either, sorry

Fortunately they don't need doing, I was just taking the opportunity to get an idea of cost, for when they do.

Sounds like my local place did me a decent enough deal on the Toyota at £56.68 including VAT, good to know they weren't taking my eyes out.

Skud hit the nail. If you can't get good tools to get good purchase on bolts, go to the garage.
Alternatively buy the tools as needed. They will then be there for the next time.

Check you have the tools before taking apart or you won't be able to get to the tool shop. It will be a good excuse to get a few more rides in, to and from Halfords.

Get a Land Rover, then you can fit all kinds of parts to it, new, recon and used, from the current model or almost any earlier or later model. Our 1986 Land Rover 90 had many "convenience" modifications like a spring assisted clutch and power steering that I fitted from more recent scrap Defenders.

According to my local garage - and I live in the ar*e end of beyond so 4wd stuff is their stock in trade - get a Land Rover and you'll spend all of your time fitting all kinds of parts to it............they just love them, keeps them in no end of business.

I do all my own servicing but modern cars are a real pain needing special tools to do the basic of things. I have even been known to dig a hole in the garden so I could work under the car without jacking it up. The only thing I never do is exhausts as these can be a real pain to get off. Get a Haynes manual and you can't go wrong.

As for LR's I had a brand new one on an H and its the biggest pile of rubbish I ever bought. Even the are sales manager from Solihull came down and said yep they are crap and will aways be crap and gave me my money back including extra for my troubles.
