hmm considering in ed stewarts autobiography it talks about meeting his future wife.
when she was 13 , and he was in this 30's

We are a bit shocked that DLT has been arrested & quite liked snooker on the radio and tuned in every week to him when he was on the beeb. OH says that it just smacks of a witch hunt and is wondering who will be arrested next. Noel Edmonds or Simon Bates maybe? Ed Stewart?

Mmm, a good point. I can see an almost logarithmic increase in the number of accused and the rate of claims from this point on. Still, at least some of them are still alive which probably actually reduces the likelihood of claims against them as they can still defend themselves in court.

On a slightly more serious point, I've no idea how they will differentiate between a smack on the backside or a quick grope which we might consider today as being unacceptable, but 35-45 years ago was pretty common and rarely remarked upon; and sexual assault. There actually weren't many options for sexual assault back then, rape or having sex with underage people being the few. The goalposts have moved since then. Plus the fact that without forensics, DNA and witnesses it should be almost impossible for the "accused" to be found guilty of anything more than possessing a "pair of offensive Loon pants in a built up area during the hours of darkness"
