Do drivers ever get a ticket or any rebuke whatsoever for entering box junctions when they shouldn't

I've just been out on my local main road as rush hour descends and as ever the BJ at the lights is practically full all the time. Now it may not be a transgression as great as RLJing that motorists complain about cyclists doing all the time but it is still somewhat dangerous and definitely not conducive to keeping the traffic flowing. Nevertheless I seem to be seeing a good 50% of drivers completely ignoring the rules and piling into the BJ to try and ensure that they get through the lights.
It clogs the traffic trying to join the road and it invariably lays a car right over the pedestrian crossing and it blocks sight lines and just causes problems. However I have never even heard of anybody ever getting ticked off in any way for doing it. The shher numbers that do it would suggest thatsomewhere amounst these BJ blockers are the exact same people who complain about bikes RLJing. Now what is up with that?

I have never seen it and to be honest it strikes me as one of those things likes fog lights - everybody knows it's illegal to drive around with them when it isn't foggy but they do it anyway because nobody gets prosecuted for it.

Leicester is like many other cities (actually you're further behind), it is miles behind places like London that have rigorously enforced bus lanes and other things for like hatch markings for years. You'll catch up.

I've never seen anybody stopped for it. For some reason in about March or April around where I live EVERYBODY had them on. I got so irritated by it (and blinded if they were cresting a hill I was riding up) I started telling people to turn them off. It's painfully blinding.

I laughed so hard when he told me cause he's one of these people who likes to look good and think he looks cool  even some modern dipped headlights can be blinding
I know that they'll target junctions occasionally and spend a morning pulling people over. And so they should.
In actual fact I don't know whether it's coincidence cyclepathic mentions it or not but there's a lot of talk about these very powers being given to councils right now. It's got into the papers and there's been a lot of wailing about cycle lanes and yellow boxes in particular. What'd probably happen would the council would enforce it so for example one or two yellow boxes in sheffield would get cams and fines dished out for the worst blatent infringements.

Whilst I am sorry to hear of some of your misfortunes on the yellow hatching I am somewhat encouraged that it has not gone completely unnoticed for ever.

Yes, thank you for that. All I can say is that we are very poorly served by our councilors who seem to be a bunch of self serving shysters. All we can really do is look to the bright lights of modern, advanced, forward thinking conurbations like Nottingham and dare to dream.
