Free internet thing, a bit like Strava but for Garmin products/users, my Garmin came with training centre which doesn't seem to be an online utility only a stand alone on the users PC, it would be nice to post up segments like strava if possible.

You can upload a garmin to strava. Garmin also have a site but it dosen't have the segment feature of Strava

I am trying to download the uploader software and the thing is just spinning, it does say its Win 8 compatible so should load ok.......but its just spinning

Strange.
I'm currently on my win 7 PC, but my laptop at work runs win 8, and I haven't had a problem to date (condemned myself to loads of problems when I'm back in Monday now).

Here's a cool thing - there's a third party site which you can sign up to, which will automagically copy all your Garmin Connect rides over to your Strava account too.
You know, should you feel a need to log everything on both.

I always use Garmin Connect and find it easy to use. There's a good route planner which makes transfers straight to your device a diddle.
I can't give you any help on that 'wait a moment' screen but I do remember that when I first installed the plug in nothing actually came on screen to say it was finished. Ended up doing it four times before I realised though.

I have done it a few times now, don't know if anything has downloaded............how will I know?
