Do I need a gps to ride the Donald Hirsch route to Paris....?

i know that this may be obviously based on my navigating skills, which are pretty good in southern England, but having never cycled in France, and on a route I have planned on RWGPS I’m not sure I need to buy the Wahoo element, although I’m really tempted by the tbt ability.
I’m planning a 4 day ride, with 50 miles on day 3, on the toughest section, and wonder whether I’m planning this correctly?
Any thoughts?

Nah. Save the money and spend it on €2 bottles of wine. That route is easy to follow, maybe fettle some paper maps and use those.
