Has to be bread, but you have to use the "lay flat" method.
1) With knife smear gravy to an even layer
2) Lay slice of bread (pref noggy (end)) on the plate.
3) Tap with fork.
4) Eat by cutting into smaller bits/

I usually lick the plate clean, saves washing up

It's annoying in a restaurant when youve had a really nice meal and theres still tasty sauce left on the plate, I end up scratching the plate to death with a fork to get it, which cant look much better!
