Does anybody own an Archos

and are they any good?

Going to be doing a bit more travelling and looking to get something to watch films and TV boxsets on when hanging about airports, on flights, staying in hotels etc...when I'm not in a reading mood.

I won't always have my laptop with me incase some bright spark offers that advice!!!

I have 3 and yes, they are OK, especially if you can get the cycling videos to load onto the PC, which I'm not capable of doing (yet)

Watch out for LOADS of cycling vids when I find out how to do it

Is it easy to download films?
Is the quality good?
Is the battery life good?

I have an Archos 605 for connecting to my helmet cam. It seems to be a bit finnicky at times - coming up with error messages upon booting it up - but once you get used to these little nuances it's a great piece of kit.

I've used it for watching stuff transferred off my PC too (Spooks / Lie to Me episodes etc.) and once you get into the film/video you seem to forget about the screen sie and it's all fine and dandy.

For me it's primarily for storing the camera footage, not really used it for much else (apart from as above).

Got mine off Amazon (second hand, like new) for 70 notes IIRC.

Why would you have 3 though???

Bought one.... Then it was updated, so bought second. Number 3 was obtained for a shopping chanel with an offer I could not refuse.

Funny enough, same TV chanel has an Archos MP3 deal on today... Might go for that as well
