Just been outside admiring my bike/pumping up the tyres.
Noticed that the brake caliper quick releases were in the 'up' position (i.e. blocks further away from rims).
The last time I adjusted the brakes was about 3 rides/150 miles ago!!!!!

Hah! Good thread as you've just made me realize that I took the front wheel off the bike the other day to go in the car and when I put it back on I didn't flick the arm back down.

Went to get the bike out for a ride a few days later. Thought, that front brake is a bit off and got the allen key out. So I've adjusted it with the arm up - also, Doh!

Makes mental note to sort it before tomorrows ride.

If it's too stiff you won't be able to flick it off quickly, which could lead to excessive rubbing. Etc Etc
