I am planning to cycle from Guildford to Shoreham on Saturday with my other half who has just started cycling again. Last weekend she managed 16 miles pretty much on the flat and was knackered. So my question is am I being a bit ambitious for her second ride or is it quite easy - I certainly don't want to kill her renewed enthusiasm for the sport? I know the route runs along the old railway south of Guildford and is pretty flat but I'm not sure what it's like further down. Would be interested to know how long it would take us at a beginner's pace?
Any advice gratefully received.
