I was cycling home in primary, with lights flashing, a row of parked cars blocking the lane to my right meaning that traffic heading the other direction had to go into my lane to pass them.
See a car up ahead, going very fast (maybe 30-40mph in a 20 zone), makes no attempt to slow down and since his side of the road was blocked, decides to drive straight at me!
I managed to escape to the side of the road and yell a few expletives, whilst the occupants of the car laugh.
Got his plates and just reported it to roadsafe, but I am a bit shaken up.

Never mind Road Safe, report 'em to the Police! Were there any other witnesses?

Don't move next time, they wouldn't dare hit you, just a case of calling their bluff.

Roadsafe is the met police btw.

Much as I admire the sentiment Lit, and it's probably what I would have done just to be bloody-minded, advising someone else to risk their neck playing chicken with a tonne of speeding metal controlled by an (apparrently) low-intelligence moron isn't the best idea.
I had a twerp Saturday night do similar to me.
He rounded the bend at the end of the straight you can see here which is approx 1/2 a mile distant, travelling in excess of the 60mph limit , he'd used the whole bend to get 'round the corner and was well on the right of his lane, but spotted me and thought he'd play 'intimidate the cyclist' and so swerved accross so he was straddling the whilte lines and yelled something unintelligble as he passed. Don't get me wrong, I was spitting mad and would have relished the chance to 'speak' to the young man in question, but was also ready to dive off my bike had he not changed course.
It's times like this I wish for a handlebar-mounted paintball gun!

I always wondered what I would do in this situation. Last week I found out.

Add to the above scenario a vicious speed bump, that the car was parked just past and a car behind me.

I held primary until the oncoming vehicle slowed enough to ensure my safety (after hitting the speed bump under heavy braking). I moved to the left as he clearly was not stopping for me, but he did have to stop for the following car who couldn't move over and was more belligerent than me. I left them arguing about who should reverse

They didn't look like they were going to stop, or slow down, I would have been hit if I didn't move.

Not the best plan IMHO, they could be drunk or stoned, driving a stolen car, combination of both, or just a generally a madman. Self preservation is the way to go...

It`s at times like this I would like to share a handful of pebbles with their onrushing windscreen .... but that would be very wrong

Unfortunately they probably drive like that even when their kids are in the car...

Had something similar a few summer's back. Two lane 50 limit rural road, cars doing anything up to 70. 100 yds ahead a car decides to overtake into my lane. Did a quick calculation and worked out there was no room and bunny hopped onto grass verge. I was right, we'd have been in a head on and I'd have lost.

I said at the time if it happened again I'd lift my bike and put it through his windscreen as he passed.
