Maybe you should all have a look at this scientific paper looking at gender difference in route learning.
Then pay particular attention to the second author....![]()

It's a 15W heater with a pointy metal stick attached, used to apply localised heat to the metal legs of electronic components while melting a low-temperature alloy of tin/silver/copper onto them, to achieve a good electrically conductive link
What this has to do with drivers I have no idea
JaguarLandRover have this system where Automobile Association Callouts are recorded for Warranty and customer satisfaction issues.
Looking down the Year To Date list on the PC at my side, I see a lot of 'Punctures' where the verbatim says "struck curb". Looking across at the 'driver details', it says Mrs and Miss a LOT of times.

To go back to this a second:
The clues here are 'Automobile Association Callouts' and 'Punctures'. Men are more likely that women to feel confident in changing a tyre themselves.
[EDIT: On a car obv.]
Ooo!
Interesting stuff, although a lot of the anatomical detail was WAY over my head.
err still off topic
the biggest difference i've seen when driving, is the utter inabilty of females to comprehend traffic merging. they seem far more likely to not let u in.
cycling, women have been the most likely to have got in my way whilst on phone/texting....
tbh a lot of the 'quick moves' by wvm or lads in chavved up cars, i'm ready for , because they're telegraphed..

Here we show, using functional magnetic resonance imaging, that men and women use the same brain areas to learn routes from both perspectives, and that the observed sex differences in route learning are not due to differences in the parts of the brain being used.

From the abstract:
Hmmm, interesting. I might have a go at the whole thing at lunchtime (I'm not expecting easily accessible language!)
