I have a simple list of requirements for a toaster... it should:
1: Accept a full sized slice of bread i.e. Warburton, and toast all of it, not all of it, except a 1" strip at the top.... all of it.
2: Have a lift mechanism that allows you to lift a crumpet or hot cross bun high enough to be removed without burning fingers.
3. Have more than the usual "Burnt or Raw" settings.

So far I've never found a toaster that manages to do all 3 properly... I live in hope.

I got this one last year to replace a 15yr-old Kenwood toaster. Really pleased with it so far - makes great toast and I like the 'bagel button' which lets you toast one side only. Had never been a fan of bagels until I bought some to try the function out - now love a hot, buttered sesame bagel on a Saturday morning.

I looked at new Kenwood toasters but they had really poor reviews so I avoided them.

Probably double the price of any other toaster I was looking at, but I had the money at the time and hopefully it'll give me many years of toasting pleasure!
