As a follow up up from another forum post regarding my Dual CREE XM-L2 Head lamps I decided to do a live demo to show there performance.

Pretty impressive even if I say so my self.

In the demo both lamps are on but under normal conditions I tend too right with just one on low and pointing further down.

Enjoy

Are you not blinding people? Don't they mask your position and prevent others seeing traffic, the road or other cyclists behind you?

Where did you buy these, Google search did not turn up much.

Cheers.

I have one, and only use it off road. To be honest, my twin U2's are just as bright as the triple and are a fraction of the size. Switching the 3rd LED on adds some brightness, but not much with two already on. 1-2 is a marked difference, but 2-3 isn't much.

You have to be really careful with these lights as they do blind drivers.

You can get these from DX.com or lightmalls.com

This could happen and it will only give us bad press
I too ride on unlit country lanes and you don't need that sort of light to be seen and to see by.

Your right which is why I only normally ride with 1 LED. The second lamp is a backup.
I have both on here to just demo the lights for people.

Impressive lights. I was expecting a fight until I realised you meant "dual" rather than "duel"... or am I wrong ?

I find a Moon XP300 more than enough on unlit lanes. It has a mount which allows a quick shove sideways to veer the beam off into the hedge so as not to blind oncoming cars.

Hehe sorry, my spelling is appalling.

I got these because they were cheap and the roads down here are ridiculously ripped. I do use the lights with consideration to other drivers in mind though.

I use two single LED Crees, on on the bars angled in quite close and one on my helmet. The helmet mount allows me to see round corners and, when needed, to main beam flash approaching drivers who haven't dipped.

I don't normally ride with all the LEDs on It It is a bit extreme.
I do knock along at 16-30+ mph ish in the dark on pot hole infested country lanes so sometimes the extra light is needed as I need too see a long way ahead.

"Driver kills cyclist in broad daylight"
Does that give all of us who are drivers bad press I wonder?

Of course not, I'm not sure why "numbnuts" came out with his remark the way he did! The video is a demo not an intent to cause harm or disharmony. My lights are no brighter then any car light. Especially when the cars come at you full beam which they do far too often.

Light intensity is a function of speed and terrain type. I think I have enough common sense to a) know how much light I need to see by and b) know when to dip the lights.

Safety first. If a rider is blinded by oncoming car headlights he should slow in the name of self preservation and the same goes for any other road user be it bike or car. You don't just close your eyes and go for it which sadly I see all too often with motorists.

If people could just learn the art of patients, give and take and a little love the world would be a better place!

Because I'm oh so tired of the "if one cyclist does something bad we will all get a bad press" rhetoric trotted out so often in here when some two-wheeled folk don't like what other two-wheeled folk do.
