Just got a lovely new bike off ebay to use as my commuter. Geometry is great for heads down racing but around town I want to be a little more upright and relaxed.
It's currently got a 100mm stem with 6deg rise. I was thinking of replacing this with something 110/120mm with 20deg rise (there seem to be a couple on wiggle).
Is there any scientific way of figuring out what stem I need? Failing that - a good bike shop in London with a range of stems that I should talk to? Will any LBS stock a variety of angles and lengths or are there particular places to go to?
Thanks for any and all help!
