I think that there is a need for extremes.... kids would pick up a song like this and remeber the message, where a hard hitting campaign like the Australian ones would either be over their heads or scare them witless!

Too right these Australian ones are hard hitting, a tad extreme!

I always remember that a highlight of the School year was when a Policeman came in to tell us about Rail safety and proceeded to regale us all with loads of really great stories, such as the time a Policeman was chasing criminals somewhere in the Motherwell area and they entered some sidings. The Police guy decided to climb a cartic (a car transporter) to gain a better view of where the crooks might be.... and got zapped by the overhead catenary killing him instantly.
Apparently the electricity (25Kv) had gone straight to the metal badge on his hat and pushed it almost out the back of his skull.

An AMAZING story to be told at school aged about 8!

Or the story of the driver who was killed after someone dropped a large brick off of an overbridge, and it came crashing through the windscreen and straight into his chest, all at a great rate of knots of course!

There were others, but the point is that, although I imagine these stories were supposed to scare us, very often they bloody fascinated me, and I always remembered the moral of the story too, so although they might have been hard hitting and extreme themselves, they bloody worked!
