Though you might be interested in having a look at this very nice Dutch-style commuter / city / pottering about bike that I have put together. It's £120 and can be tried out at our warehouse in East London or sent via UPS for £15.
It's exclusive to us and so far all our feedback from buyers has been brilliant. Drop us a line on info@oldskoolhooligans.com if you need any more info

'Dutch Style'? Looks more like a beach cruiser to me.
It's not road-legal either

on the website it does state "off-road use only. front caliper brake availabe at extra cost".
so basically it's just a hidden cost or they assume most people will ignore the legal issue anyway - their arse is covered though

It's got coaster brakes, pedal backwards and the bike comes to a standstill.

In the UK, you need two independent braking means, I believe, so coaster brakes alone aren't enough.

£120 for a 15kg lump? No thanks. By the way, making your first and only post an advertising message scores fairly high on the douchebag meter.

I don't really fancy pedal back brakes. It makes it tricky to get the pedals in the right position for starting but I suppose you get used to it.

What happens if the chain comes off:biggrin:

A Dutch style commuter bike would have:

Mudguards
A chain guard
A rack
Lights
Brakes at both ends.

This is a bike for people who don't need to carry anything to work, and will only ride there on perfectly dry days, wearing shorts.

Not many folk in the Netherlands fit that description. I won't be recommending your bike to my Dutch friends.

Correct. There was a letter in "Cycle" recently about the legality of coaster brakes and these count as one brake according to Chris Juden. And he should know. Front brake therefore required for use in the UK on the road.

Basic Brompton's are in the 15kg weight region. And cost a lot more. As you say though, heavy for what they are.
