Touche said:If it wasn't so localised to London I would support it. A good idea for Londoners agreed, but this needs to have a national body rather than be a parochial measure.
Origamist said:Eh? It's not about improving the lot of London cyclists, but all of this country's cyclists. The examples may focus on London, but any measures that are taken will be rolled out nationwide.
Touche said:Mea Culpa. I followed the link in the OP and it was all about LCC this and Met Police that and Boris the other. The EDM itself starts off being London Centric. However on re-reading it and allowing for the usual bias in the South East to ignore the rest of the country I can see that it may make some difference and will be contacting my MP.

Touche said:If you ever spent any time outside the South East and London you will notice that there is a bias in the media, sports, government etc ... to put the concerns of the home counties before the rest of the country.
When I lived in the home counties I did not see this, but after living in Scotland for the last 20 years it is very apparent.
Either that or I have a massive chip on my shoulder.
hackbike 666 said:That actually strikes me as a very nasty bias comment including the fact you haven't actually got a clue on where I have lived during my lifetime.

(never mind what proportion of employment and weath)
Touche said:True I do not know where you have lived in your past, but the fact that you do not even recognise that a bias exists as evidenced in the following ...
... is a pretty clear indication that you have spent most of your life in the home counties.
If that is wrong then I apologise, but as I stated previously, when I was living in the home counties I could see no bias either. It was only after I have been up in Scotland for a few years that it became so apparent.
