It's funny how one incident can put you off eating something for ever. I don't eat Dairylea triangles after one incident of being sick after eating them. No idea if they were the cause but they got the blame. It's not proper cheese anyway.
I used to be seriously emetophobic as a kid, and as I also thought that eating anything I didn't like would make me sick, I was a very picky eater. Chewing a mouthful of meat once, I swallowed half of it and kept the other half in my mouth unaware that the two pieces were attached by a string of fat. It went down my gullet and back up again like a yoyo.
We were given a packed lunch involving a Sandwich, Orange, and a Banana which I duly ate at the 'lunch stop' then was herded onto the bus for the rest of the journey into Wales along narrow twisty/bumpy lanes, let's just say my packed lunch hadn't settled too well and made a startlingly rapid bid for freedom. It could have been food poisoning due to the packed lunch fermenting for 4 hours in a warm Coach but it was very traumatic for a 9yr old. (no doubt not pleasant for the other kids some of whom rapidly followed my example)
Aah yes, the aroma of the school bus by the end of a hot day, I remember it well. ^_^

Nay this wasn't a school bus but a coach to a week away at some sheds* at 'Devils Bridge' in Wales.

* billed as 'lodges' they were unheated wooden huts with 2 sets of bunk beds in each.

Worst 'holiday' ever without a sink/tap in the 'lodge' and with the 'toilet block' about 200 yards away

Might have said in a previous post, I always ate too much, I carry it pretty well having been formerly very fit but its showing a bit, a paunch and I really must stop eating so much.
First week of fasting between 7pm and 12 or 1 pm..16, 17, 18 hours of no food, just water .
Today, just had a light salad, black olives, some airfried sweet potato and brisling in lemon and dill sauce (thought id try something a little different)
Brisling, spratt, a family member of Sardines family apparently, much lighter in texture and taste than sardines which I like but are quite strong and heavy...
I remember dad would but buy a bag of spratts from the fishmongers and fry them ?
All these 'delicacies' are disappearing, spratts were probably cheap as chips but very good for you.
Next time im in town...i might pop and see if i can find some
