I have bought lots of guitar odds and sods from ebay, and so far never had a problem....
Having spent this evening making my first venture into selling via ebay (selling a few sets of strings that I seem to hasve accumulated over time) let's hope that the trend to trouble-free transactions continues.....

Bought two different tents off E-Bay, both bargains, one was brand new and I paid about one third of the price for a serious 4 season North Face tent
On the downside I also bought a trailer from a professional seller. He claimed it was two years old, it turned out to be 12 years old. Gave him a bad write up after asking him to sort it out privatly. He then got a bit nasty and E-bay cut him off.

500+ deals, two bad experiences. Overall, overwhelmingly positive, and I agree that it gives a very reassuring picture of people out there, most of whom are decent and straight to a fault.
