eBay Trike - why?

As per the title, why would you do this to a trike?
I'm just curious and I know it killed the cat and all that, but....

Gaawdanbennett, that is fugly. How would you steer it, you'd have to move the handlebars about 3 foot to get the wheel to even begin to turn.

It looks like someone saw one of these and thought "I can build one" and then failed.

It was originally a low step-over frame semi-recumbent for disabled use

However unless it is hinged then the weird extension bar for the gearing has negated the low step over advantages
