If only they closed a few tax holes to stop the extremely rich avoid paying millions of pounds worth of taxes each and every year... the Government could quite easily subsidise places such as The Eden Project and make them more affordable.
They have had a fair bit of wonga already......(from their website)....

"The Millennium Commission weighed in with £37.5 million of lottery funding to single Eden out as the ‘landmark’ project of the far South West, and their subsequent contributions brought the total to just over £56 million. We hope we’ve delivered for them and for anyone who's ever bought a lottery ticket.
Other major sources of funding included the EU and Southwest Regional Development Agency (some £50 million between them) and £20 million of commercial loans. The balance was made up of £8 million of other loans and some funds generated by Eden itself and reinvested back into the Project."

... one unlucky chap who hadn't prepared himself walks away from the till saying very loudly "Fifteen pounds twenty for two teas and two orange juices?!?! You need a bloody mortgage for this place!"
This is so true - but why is anyone surprised at the price in a cafe or service station, it's been the same for years.
I worked at Thorpe Park for a summer job, so many people would moan about the price, surely everyone knows it will be expensive, it cant be a surprise to anyone. But please dont moan at me, I dont set the prices.
Oh yeah, and dont think I havent seen your rapidly growing teenagers crouch down so that I would think they are under 5 foot and charge them a kids entrance fee.

Oh yeah, and then they get to go to the front of the queue first too.
Disneyland were having problems with this. Disabled people were renting themselves out as "park guides" offering quick access to rides.

The system that Disneyland is implementing is similar to the one that Alton Towers already has. Registered Disabled (plus 2 others) get fast access, but then the access card is marked with the time they can go on another ride. That time takes into account the current queue on the ride they have just been on.

So Registered Disabled can't just go on ride after ride all day with a load of mates. Having said that, the operatives there are quite generous with the current queue times
Family holiday in Cornwall. Eden Project or Flambards? Hmm, let's think...
Ha.....brilliant. I used to work at Flambards! By the way...its now been bought by someone that apparently wants to invest in it so watch this space!! (or just go to Eden!)

I have not been to the Eden project but Kew seems great for kids. Lots of space to run around, they love the treetop walkway and not sure if they still do it but they did have an ice rink there over Christmas a few year ago.
There is a lovely gallery and endless walks. I have gone there perhaps six times and each time there is either something new or we find a bit we have not seen before.
