Edge 800 transferring from ridewithgps

Grrrrrmph,
The scene:

1. I plotted out 6 individual days worth of touring in France using the ridewithgps site. Saved 'em and then transferred them as 6 separate GPX tracks to my pc hard drive.
2. Opened up BaseCamp (loaded with CityNavigator Europe maps), and imported them. One of them failed to import, citing "unknown error opening import file"; this was my first days route.
3. Then I used the "Send to" function within BaseCamp to send the remaining 5 to my Edge 800.
4. Only four were sent (each as *.fit files). Day 3 just evaporates somewhere.

Day one file (Caen-Evreux_85m.gpx) is 183 kb, the largest of the six but not by much. Day 3 (Saran-Briare_65m.gpx) is only 111 kb.

I have only 4 files in the Garmin>Courses directory (within the device itself, not the sd card (which has loads of free space)).

Now most of the routes have only one or two intermediate course points (Day 1 for example), whilst Days 3 & 4 have many.

Any thoughts pretty please?
