any car driven by an old man in a hat is usually one to stay clear of IME.

anyhoo, just avoided a head on last night with a range rover driven at speed the wrong way round a roundabout ;) (there's a socking great block of flats in the middle so didn't see him till late and was in strong primary to avoid being left hooked by the car load of coppers sitting right behind me). gave him a WTF gesture, he waved and headed off. to top it off, the cops did exactly - nothing. wonder what they'd have done if a cyclist had come round it the wrong way?

IME, often to be found driving the more ostentatious, boy-raceresque cars (which I suspect is a similar reason for red cars showing up hughly in the survey), but generally attentive and considerate. I'm far more wary of the huuuuuuuuge luxury cars driven by young asian females.

Wearing a hat has been proven[1] to interfere with the car driving centre of the brain.

100% OF FACT.

Here's an interesting fact: most of us will become elderly! I can't qualify certain brackets of the population as bad drivers -some are just bad regardless of their age, sex, gender, race, etc. You can get boy racers, middle aged men with mid life crises, aggressive women, elderly folk all driving appallingly.

It's funny really, but most people are quite happy to blame other people for being the bad drivers. Sort of reminds me of a quote I read the other day "90% of Americans believe other Americans should use public transportation".

Perhaps the best thing we can do is look into the mirror and try to drive/cycle the best we can when we are out on the roads. Hopefully better driving can then brush off onto other people around us.
