The carbon thingie from cars you see in adverts smallprint
eg 120g/km etc etc

Does that mean over a 70 km journey a car emits over 8kg in carbon.. greenhouse gases or have I got that very wrong? Mathematically or understanding of that little equation

Yep, around 8kg which can be worked out as mol/volumes whatever or left as it is.

I am only double checking as that sounds a huge amount.. and I want to use this information in an idea that I am developing... hence my need for knowing it is correct

'fraid so. It's why our way of life is pretty much screwed when you apply it to all sorts of other activities and that there are several billion too many of us on this bit of rotating rock.

I am actually astounded by the fact .. as I do tend to chuck 8kg and 16kg kettlebells around a bit.....

Perversely, however this information can only do 'good' for my intended idea.

Anyone any idea of the amount of 'carbon debt' there is in the production of a 1000+kg vehicle regardless of what powers it as compared to say a 10kg bike?

Yes. P&L (that way---->) has covered this. You need to talk to Jonesy and User482. Some of the threads are still knocking about.
