I rode one of those 100 mile Bike Event things in Bath when they first became popular. Staying at a B&B the night before I decided on All Bran for breakfast thinking the fibre would do me good.

It definitely did something good, but it wasn't what I had in mind.

Word of advice, do not eat fig energy bars when miles away from home

Just head for the nearest bush

I learnt a similar thing during my early scuba diving days. Under no circumstances have mexican food the night before a 35m dive at the Farne Islands in a dry suit.

Just had a Power Bar for breakfast *free gift with a cycling magazine* & I am not cycling today either, lay in bed an extra 10 minutes & had no time for a proper brekkie (early start).

This is an example of when a promo sample product convinces the potential customer to never buy that product ever.

Cliff bars on the other hand are yummy.
