your fixed term will end and then what? A sudden increase in the monthly cost? I'd rather get used to it now.

When your fixed term is coming to an end you just switch again, in the mean time you've saved some cash.

My gas and electric total around £170 a month.
It's a 4 bed house and has cavity wall and loft insulation and a fairly new combi boiler, but we just can't seem to run it cheaply!
