'er indoors just called to say

that the tyre on the back wheel of my Roubaix just exploded, frightening the jimmedy life out of her (we nearly had a premature sproglet apparently). It has left a gaping hole in the tyre. Oh well, on to Wiggle for new tyres.

So good tip to self, when moving the bike to very warm & sunny conservatory for a while, remember to lower the tyre pressures.

On the plus side... when sprog is due, if he/she decides to say indoors rather than pop out into the big wide world when he/she is supposed to, then you've already discovered a way to err... encourage the appearance

Was it one of those soft pliable Roubaix Spesh tyres - mine did the same, as a truck was overtaking me. I nearly had a sprog too!!!

Got the almost bomb-proof ones on it now. Slightly harder ride, but feel more reassured at the extra protection ...

Was going to change them anyway for thinner tyres anyway...

Tyres for him, little bag of sweeties for her. Won't work as well if he gets the bottle opener though
