Going purely by some reviews I've read... Yes.

I'm sure someone who owns one will be along soon

Go test ride one and see what YOU think - need a debit card and picture ID, they charge you a penny and you can have a decent test.

Never ridden one but personally I think the styling is mostly rather dull (other than the orange one they had at one point.but there are prettier orange bikes ;) ) and they are quite heavy framed IMO

I have a 2013 dolomite 4 and I love it. I've done about 1500 miles on it and honestly I don't think I could have got better for my cash. The frame isn't heavy when you compare like for like and the spec level would have cost me at least £900 in one of the big name brands. I love that it looks a bit retro as in no chavvy graphics or logos.
It was £540 in a end of season event, reduced from I think £700.

Do definitely go and ride them along side the other brands though, just because it suits me does not mean it will suit everyone.

Try www.leisurelakesbikes.co.uk in Bury - not too far a drive from Oldham.

They do Zero % over 6, 12, 18 mths depending on how much bike is.

I know they do Cube & Specialized there but can't remember what other brands.

If you join their V.I.P club (at a cost £30) you get 5% off price of new bike + a Muc Off bike cleaning kit with value £30++ @ RRP so a no brainer really.

You don't say what size frame you need or your height leg length reach etc - some here are good @ finding a bargain for folks (not me really) so this would help a little.

www.ash-cycles.co.uk have 2013 Giant Defy 3 @ £573 - Shimano Sora 2x 9 speed (compact 50/34 chainset).

Available in all sizes it looks like.

Compact is all you will ever need.
It comes with a 12-27 cassette but easy & cheap enough to change up to an 11-28 or 11-30.

Priced this up for my mate at £11.99 for 11-30 cassette & approx £18 for a medium rear derailleur from Wiggle.

Not sure about finance but they do C2W (do you have access to C2W) ??

Anyway - my mate has this exact bike in red/white/black & loves it.
