Bank transfer via the interwebs is the way forward. For some reason HMRC are exempt from Lloyds Bank "you have set up a new payee please enter the six digit code" bollox.
Same at the co-op.

Mine often seems to be done lateish, but I do it myself and at least check any accountants' figures because it's my neck/money on the line and I know a few people who got in a mess as a result of trusting accountants! Then when checking their terms, many accountants seem to disclaim errors by saying the client should double-check and the most the clients get back is a goodwill refund, nowhere near their fined amount or the costs incurred putting it right. Some got nothing back. Good luck taking a big accuntancy firm to court for following terms you agreed to!

All done in time this time, though.

One of the things I don't miss after 30 odd years of self employment.

Being employed has some perks it would seem.

I think this year the tax return are going to be every 3 month ? Iirc and done online. Enjoy

first year I had to pay some back and HSBC also didnt ask for any new payee six digit rubbish.

I assume they know nobody likes to give them money so it isnt going to be a scam...
