I've just had an e-mail from Ribble saying my Sportive is in the post (a week ahead of promised date), which is brilliant , except that I'm away working in Manchester all next week so I won't get a chance to play with it

Which one did you get? I have my finger poised on the Home Delivery button for the Centaur one, I would have paid extra for the Ultegra, but they don't list a compact chainset for it. Still, not to worry, Campag and Shimano, it's all the same isn't it?????????????

I got the Centaur Carbon compact and Askiums - no point in spending any more with my legs

Advice - don't bother specing an ITM bar, they are running out of stock since they went bust, I had to exchange a few e-mails to get an alternative.

Delivery has been 3 weeks which isn't shabby given that I waited 10 weeks for my Orbea.

For what it's worth, the Centaur is a little lighter I believe. If the price difference doesn't matter to you then I would choose based on which style of hoods and shifters you prefer.

I went with the Centaur (53/39 and 12-25) and I have no regrets.

It didn't turn up today

I guess that means that Mrs C will get back from work on Monday to find a card "We sneaked round when we knew you wouldn't be home..etc". I'm going to have to get her to rearrange delivery so it will be waiting for me when I get back from Manchester on friday.

BTW any good pubs/restaurants in Didsbury, particularly near Palatine road?
