As I have a left foot the width of a flipper just wondered if anyone could suggest a make of road cycling shoe which is available in a wide fitting. Been to my local shops, Rourkes, Swinnertons and Cyclestore but they do not have anything which fits. I'm starting to think i will have to give up on the road shoes and settle for another pair of SPD's.
Thanks

Shimano do wide fitting. Wiggle sell, as do Evans. Free returns

I have fairly wide size 12s specialized are a good fit, but my new shoes are carnac from planet x & they have loads of room, might be worth a try

Thanks for the replies. I have tried several makes which the local shops have in stock i.e. Mavic, Specialized and Shimano but to no avail. Rourkes ordered a pair of Mavic Avenge Maxi's in but after seven weeks I am still waiting. I believe Shimano R170 do a wide fitting so I will have to try and find a stockist of these as no one local appears to stock Northwave as I do need to try before I buy.

Shimano do wide fit, its not 'road style' but i got a pair of M088 wide - and it was a v good fit , still needed to buy a size larger than normal , but impressed that it fitted my generally wide feet.

I have Shimano and simply accept the fact that they are a bit too long. Works ok by having a size 46 when length wise I could probably cope with a 45 or even a 44.

I usually buy a 10to 10.5 uk, but just bought some expensive Grenson brogues for a wedding and they were a size 9!

Called at Tweekscycles at Wrexham last Friday morning on my way to our caravan in North Wales and purchased a pair of Shimano RO88WE wide fitting shoes. Tried Northwave they had in stock but I found them narrower than the wide Shimano's purchased.

Don't know why Swinnertons did not order these shoes when I purchased my bike from them as they ordered a pair of normal Shimano RO88's for me at the time which were too narrow. Result though as they were £25 cheaper at tweeks.

Sidi Mega is marketed as a wide fitting..... but Sidi tend to come up narrow normally, so this may not help.

Evans usually have a decent range of sizes in stock.
