I have porridge for breakfast most mornings. I like the way I do it, but having the same thing every day can get a little boring.

The past few days, I have livened up my porridge somewhat by adding ...

Hot Thai chillis, two per bowl, chopped finely and including the seeds - interesting!

Give it a go.

OK then. I think I might pass on that. I thought adding drinking chocolate power to the mix was pushing the boat out. Just hope the chillis don't decide to make a quick exit from the body

As someone who, after countless tries, just can't do porridge because of its inherent sticky/gloopiness, but is aware of the all-round goodliness of oats (low GI and antidepressant properties), I tend to mix up a 'power smoothie' most mornings. Banana, pineapple, strawbs or whatever I've got lying around, to which I add a good bowlful of oats. Blitzed with a handheld, then yoghurt, honey and soy milk, and blitzed again. Also has the advantage of being able to be 'drunk' from a glass, thus saving on all that spooning into the mouth nonsense. Sometimes I'll stick in some sun/pumpkin/linseeds too for extra lumpiness. Kinda liking the idea of adding chocolate now though..

Have you any other recipes perhaps? I think I might pass on chilli porridge.
Curried chilli baked beans!

Empty 1 tin of baked beans into a pan, add 3 crushed cloves of garlic, a teaspoon of curry powder, and as many chopped hot Thai chillis (including seeds) as you fancy (5 in my case).

Invite friends and family to go out for the day!

ColinJ's salad dressing with a bite

100 mL of extra virgin olive oil

100 mL of balsamic vinegar

250 mL of low fat natural yoghurt

Juice of half a lemon and/or half a lime

Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Pinch of salt

A teaspoon of wholegrain mustard

Half a teaspoon of honey

3 crushed cloves of garlic

1 chopped and crushed hot Thai chilli (with or without the seeds)

Mix it all up! (If you don't fancy the chilli - leave it out!)

Tried meusli? I make my own toasted variety with base of oats - oats/sunflower seeds/coconut/bran/nuts for variety; covered in a oil/honey mix and popped in the oven till golden - yum!
