Just visited a store (well it was a garage) and they sold Merida bike. Never heard of them. Saw two hybrid bike I quite like a crossways for £400 similar to cross trail specialised. But not knowing the brand

Giant are the biggest in terms of numeric output put Merida are up there with the best of them. A respected enough name. The downside of buying direct is the lack of test ride.

That kinda depends where you shop... my local sells Merida and some are none too cheap!

Never said they are cheap, although many people think they are a poorly made bike. But on many of them they are either a bit cheaper, or better spec than many of the big brands.

I do wonder how much a badge costs sometimes. Here is a good example.

The equivalent spesh and cannondale are way more expensive.

Ive sort of been looking at a disc bike ultegra spec, so far the Merida wins hands down.

I have a merida scultura 905 mostly Ultegra full carbon etc. for the price I paid you'd have been looking at most Tiagra on a specialized!

My mate has a 2014 ride 94, it's a very nice bike although i'm starting to think Shimano R500s are a bit too cheep to be the stock wheels on it.
