Failing tesco torches

Hmm... I'm kind of glad they'd all gone by the time I looked now. The ones I've seen in there recently are only 1W and quite a lot smaller.

Are made-for-purpose bike lights tested for vibration resistance, I wonder? Having said that, I had a flickering light problem with an older style bike light a while back. Could not make it misbehave off the bike at all, but on the bike the light intensity was fluttering to the point where I relegated it to 'house torch'.

Can I remind people that wattage is a measure of the amount of power an appliance draws, not how much power/light it throws out?

A 1 watt light that throws out the same lumens/lux/candlepower will be much lighter on batteries.

Having said that, I haven't seen the new 1 watt lights so don't know how they compare in other ways.
