I frequently dispose of various types of human waste, after inspecting it, in a large macerator. These machines, for those not familiar with them, grind the waste along with the cardboard receptacle(s). Considering the only people who should be using this machine are staff members it really amazes me the number of times it is damaged or blocked because plastic items are loaded in it - the usual offender being pregnancy testing kits.

We sometimes get the boxes from pregnancy tests thrown away in the recycling. I always wonder what the result was!
(You can follow all of human life doing my job. One house, not long after we started collecting in that area, suddenly had congratulations cards and baby toy packaging. Last week, there was a bunch of "You're 1!" cards, and more toy boxes. I wonder how many more sets of birthday cards I'll see there?)
